Here is my latest! It's the lower left hand corner. I am working on page 4 for those in this SAL. One of these days I will iron and use the camera instead of the phone and spare you my crappy phone photos. Hope to get some more done tonight and tomorrow.

LHN

I need to finish the "L", and Some of the border and I have a finish!!! This was supposed to be a Little something for our anniversary. After I finish , press and frame, its going under the tree! :-)

New Month, More stitching, pics to follow

Thanksgiving came and went , the extra pounds came ( more on their leaving later :-) We had a quiet one with just the boys this year. That does not mean I did not do loads of cooking. Good thing they all did the clean up! I have been gettting some stitching done here and there on LHN and Mary Wigham.
The end of the semester brings loads of work for me. Trying to balance that with home life, getting ready for Christmas, decorations etc. I have decided to do it little by little this year, maybe start tonight and finish with the tree on Saturday when the college boy comes home to help out.
While I am not the best blogger in the world by far, I am discouraged by the fact that I have so few followers ( I love and am grateful for the ones I have), I dont think I am doing this blogging thing right and that may be the reason why I dont have alot of followers... Maybe perhaps I should do more pics! I welcome any ideas, and you lurkers, leave me a comment or two :-)

Fall

Fall is here. This is a pic of my drive home today. Have the jammies on, chili in the crockpot, laundry put away. Dh will no doubt take the boy to basketball practice tonight and mommy is stitching. I truly hope the new book on my nook wont call me away...

Always and Forever LHN

A FINISH at long last!!!

I finally decided yesterday that I would do no school work on my day off. The family would have left overs and I was going to plunk in front of the tv and watch all my DVR'd tv shows. It didnt work out exactly as planned but I did get some stitching in and a finish. My very first LHN ornament.
I have also posted two pics of two new items for my stash. One is Drawn Threads' The Marriage of the Minds and the other is Beloved by A Stitchers Hands.

Now I am off to pick out the next ornament to stitch and put some more stitches into my Mary Wigham WIP before I have to stop to start dinner.

Friday night

This is What I had accomplished by Friday night on my ornament. Loving this mobile blogger. Only thing is I have to figure out how to put more than one pic on a post. Really hope yo finish this orny today. Three months left till Christmas!!! Gots lots done on my first ever stab at a granny square blanket. Will post pics of that soon. Off to get homework done so I can settle in to stitch today.

My first post

Stitcher's Paradise Las Vegas NV trip

In between my travels, I was able to visit the Stitcher's Paradise in Las Vegas. Really tried to get there a second time but there really was not enough time. I got myself a needleminder that I had drooled over online and a LHN and Primitive Neeldworks piece. I also got  Earths Angels by Glory Bee (not photographed) and a few pieces for my sister in law also not photographed to get her hooked. Not sure if it worked... My 19 year old niece is a cross stitcher too to my surprise but I did not get to take her to Stitchers Paradise. I did not see her work but she is more of a modern ( Star Trekkie) type of stitcher. Not sure if she would have liked any of the pieces at the cross stitch shop. At any rate I think I got her hooked on crochet. She like her aunt loves purple and she is well on her way to making a beautiful scarf! Cant wait to see the finished product.
Not sure how much stitching time I will get in today. Came off the flight very sick, spend majority of day in bed yesterday. Did finish a good book though! Laundry is all done, completely unpacked. Have some homework and recorded tv shows to catch up on. One will facilitate stitching... the other will not.

Back from Vacation

What a wonderful time we had!! Las Vegas, California and Arizona. Lots of shopping, eating and fun with family!!! Not much stitching done other than crocheting. Finished a blanket for the new nephew. Taught my niece and sister in law how to crochet and got to visit Stitchers Paradise in Las Vegas. Picked up a few goodies there that I will post later.

Did not get this done in time for my anniversary but did get to stitch
a bit on it his weekend between shopping and packing for vacation and
back to school and dorm shopping...today it is rainy. Have a roast in
the roaster a movie on and my butt in my chair in my room and my feet
on my ottoman

some more of the colors as a border or leave it alone.,,

Mailman

This is what my mail carrier dropped in my box yesterday. The first 4
ornaments I have ordered from LHN.
I just joined Vonna's SAL for the ornaments. Looks like they will be
travel friendly. Can't wait to get them kitted up!

Good Eats

DH got back late Friday night. I got a mug, 2 handbags and a thimble
from his travels. Yesterday after running errands with me, he cooked
us this delicious meal while I was out at Borders with the boys. After
dinner we sat outside so no cross stitiching for me. I was able to
work some crochet time in. After a cup of coffee in my new mug... It's
stitching time!!

More stitching time!!

Looks like the house is clean, yard work done, laundry put away and
dinner ready. Hubby Is on his way back from out of town. Back to the
happy chair and more stitching!!!!
Just ordered a couple of the Little House Needlework Christmas
ornaments from 123stitch.com. Not sure that I ordered them in the
order they were put out. Trying to join Vonna's LHN ornament SAL. I
think hope these will be travel/ plane friendly and that I can get
some ornaments cranked out before Christmas.

The Teacher

All day stitching today!!! Will be working on Mary Wigham and on this WIP: The Teacher by Marilyn Leavitt-Imblum. She was big in the needlework world for a while there. Now I rarely hear about her. I rarely see any of her pieces on any blogs. Anyone out there stitching any of her work?

What I am doing and what I wish I was doing...

I really have to wrap this paper up so I can get to some stitching done!!!!

Books n Blogs

I continue to try to get this blog thing going. I know the type of blog I want, just cant seem to get it either in design or activity. I just figured out how to send pics from my phone to my blog. Perhaps that will help in getting pics up on my blog. I still dont like the font size, styles or layout so will continue to play around  with it. I also set up a Good Reads widget so I can keep track of the books I have read, am reading and waiting to read.

Iced lemonade tea container and test

I searched for a class pitcher/container with a lid to make huge
amounts of my tea. Came up with this container which turned out to be
a canning jar. Who knew? Also testing to see if this will post to my
blog via my phone.

Better Pic of My Mary

I dont know why the last pic or Mary came out on its side. I could not straighten it out. Here is an upright pic. I just added the blue to my existing pallete. Not sure if it will stay. I will have to see what it looks like interspersed throughout the  piece. My living room in red with some browns and gold, but recently I added some colonial blues.

My new favorite drink

I love the starbucks shaken lemonade green iced tea. So... imagine my surprise when I found this at target!! I made a huge jar of it...love it love it love it. Getting ready to pour a tall class and sit in my happy chair and stitch during this rain storm. Have yummy stuff in the crock pot and no where to go for the rest of the day...ah...bliss

Mary Wigham update

Not much of an update but here she is...

Miscellaneous pics or what I have been up to.

Not sure what blogger is doing or why its loading the pics weird and not lettin me type where I want to type. Below are some pics of what I am up to. The first is an artichoke ball, ( my German friend taught me how to make these when we lived in Germany) I made it for one of hubby's co-workers. Next are some fabrics I picked out for a baby quilt. The colors look so much better in real life, I promise!. Next is my latest Vera Bradley. Got it for our next vacation. Last pic is the squares I have been making for my new niece or nephew. Again the camera or my phone rather, did not do the colors justice, they are far brighter, I have also added a lime green and am putting them together now.

Second Bib

Not sure why both bibs didnt upload at the same time. I really want to start these but dont have baby names yet :-(  May just do the last name on one. I will no doubt be buying more between now and the due date

Bad Blogger/ Bad Stitcher

So, I thought I was going to reform and become a great blogger and get loads of stitching done this summer but that has not happened. I am going to be a new aunt so I have been spending time crocheting, reading and not much else (besides some summer courses). Pictures to follow...

This is what I really want to stitch now

I got this a while ago while I was still in school and drooling to get to start it. Now I feel guilty because I have so many WIPS. I currently have an upstairs and downstairs project. Maybe this can be the project for when I tire of the other two. As long as I am stitching on something its progress right?? I like my rationale! I think it will work!!

My new baby

This is what has been taking my stitching time: the Nook I got as a graduation gift.
I have been stitching some on my The Teacher as well as on my Mary Wigham.
I am itching to start something new. I also have had some crochet time. Ever since school ended for me, I have been trying to focus on one project but alas I am like a kid in a candy store. After so much time of no "me-time" I dont know what to do with myself now.

Summertime!!

Graduation is over, all the guests have gone, have cleaned up the house again and have actually had some stitching time after so long. I itch to start something new but I know better. I am rotating two pieces: The Mary Wigham and The Teacher. I decided to have an upstairs and downstairs piece. I also got a neew DMC storage bag and some new needles.
I also want to make a covered altoids box so maybe that will be a way to introduce a new project but not take away from the two biggies I really want to finish.

Some Progress

So I did get some stitching done over spring break!!! Not as much as I would have like but is it ever?? I managed to come down with a cold/flu that robbed me of valuable stitching time.

I also stitched some on Red White and Blue by Cricket collection as a soldier memorial for a friend who lost her hubby in Iraq. No pics yet. I ordered that pattern and Vierlanden Sampler Anna by Stickideen von der Wiehenburg. Need some fabric suggestions on this one.Ordered a bit of fabric at the same time I ordered these patterns and not crazy about it, its a little too loose for me. I realized I like a stiffer linen or evenweave. Will take suggestions

Spring Break!!!

Hope to get some substantial amount of stitching done this week. I am off for a week from school. I still have alot of homework and some papers to work on but I am still plannning on enjoying some fun reading and some stitching time. I did get a few stitches into The Teacher.
